Throwback Thursday
Allow me to take you back to a time when I was obsessed with “skinny”.
And no matter how skinny I got I still didn’t see it.
I didn’t feel the way I thought I should feel if I was skinny.
I always felt like I needed to loose just another couple pounds.
I remember exactly what I weighed when this photo was taken..... 121 pounds.
I remember because I was disappointed.
In my head I wanted to be 120 pounds.
Looking back, I looked sick.
I mean look at my arms!!!
I was not healthy.
But all I saw was big thighs and kept wondering when I would see a defined six pack.
Those chiseled squares on my stomach were a goal I chased and chased and chased.
I thought if I ate less calories I would teach my goal.
I thought carbs were the enemy.
I though cardio was the answer.
And I thought I was doing it the right way.
Boy was I wrong!!!
Then I learned a simple nutrtion program that taught me to fuel my body properly.
I also learned that lifting weights won’t make you bulky.
And things started to change.
The girl you see today had no idea what she weighs, and she doesn’t care!!!
So here is what I have learned in the last 5 years of my fitness journey
ππ» From Skinny Obsessed to Strong Focused
⠀
1. Strict Diets don’t work, healthy lifestyles do!!!
⠀
2. You don’t have to spend hours in the gym to get results. ⠀
⠀
3. Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it!!!
⠀
4. Do not eliminate food groups!!⠀
⠀
5. You need to train your mind as much as your body!!
⠀
6. That Lifting weights is my favorite! Strong > skinny ⠀
⠀
7. That Fads will come and go but, quality nutrition with whole food nutrients will never go out of style!!!
⠀
8. That you can get awesome results in 30 minutes from home!!
9. That Healthy looks different on every body!!!
10. The scale does not define you or represent you health!!!
So let’s shift that focus from skinny to healthy!!!
It’s not about being a size 0 or weighing 120 pounds.
It’s about HEALTHY!
It’s about HAPPY!!
And it’s certainly not about deprivation!!!
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t feel lucky that I became a coach and discovered these healthy tools!!!
Tools I use every day!!!
I don’t count calories and neither should you!!
Learn REAL NUTRITION first!!!
If you need help with that I’ve got you covered!
I’m now enrolling new ladies for my next lifestyle makeover group!!!!
It’s kinda my thing to empower women to realize that STRONG, HAPPY and HEALTHY is the new skinny, and that you can still have your wine, cake, bread and fruit... and eat it too! π
